Jan Vormann : Dispatchwork

This was part of a group project ’20 Eventi’. Jan Vormann uses Lego bricks to repair damaged walls. The surfaces he has patched up in the photos bellow are in Bocchignano, Italy. The work is regarded as ‘repatching’ or ‘repairing’. I find it quite inspirational as new materials are being built into the wall. It reminds me in a way of restructuring, or slashing and opening a garment, however the garment (old bricks) is reconstructed with cloth (Lego bricks) in order to create a new shape.

He commented on being inspired by human towers and how the fragile structure made him think of Dispatchwork. You are able to see the links he makes with building Lego bricks and building people. Here is a video he referred to:
